DESCRIPTION:Hub Huddles are an opportunity for manufacturing leaders to share\, on a peer-to-peer basis\, best practices for growth and strategies to overcoming challenges.\n\n \nIncreasing Productivity and Decreasing Turnover: A Potential Solution to Workforce Issues\n\nPresented by Rudy Pruszko\n\nIowa State University - Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS)\n\n \n\nThis presentation will explore how manufacturers can address workforce issues by using Training Within Industry (TWI) tools to:\n\n\n	Improve productivity  by leveraging  continuous improvement programs for maximum benefit\n	Retain employees by increasing job satisfaction and morale and creating a safe working environment\n	Reduce training times for new employees and capture the knowledge and experience of retiring employees\n\n\nTraining Within Industry (TWI) is a dynamic program of hands-on learning and practice\, teaching essential skills for supervisors\, team leaders and anyone who directs the work of others. TWI is an element of continuous improvement programs around the world including the Toyota Production System. \n\n \n\nWho should attend?\n\nThis session is ideal for Human Relations managers\, supervisors and owners that are concerned about the lack of available workforce and its long-term negative effects on their organizations.\n\n \n\nAbout the speaker\n\nRudy Pruszko has more than 25 years of experience in areas such as technical product marketing\, engineering and production management\, feasibility studies\, quality management\, bio-fuels consulting\, and plant management. He has worked in a variety of management roles in the chemical\, agricultural machinery and biofuels industries. \n\n \n\nCurrently Rudy leads CIRAS efforts in ISO quality systems\, plant safety\, and Training Within Industry\, including various third-party resource experts. He conducts feasibility studies and consults on bio-fuel projects\, with particular interest in biodiesel projects and technologies. He has been serving CIRAS since 1999.\n \n\n Time will be provided for Q & A and networking with other attendees.\n\n \n\nThis event is free to attend.
