OSHA is issuing two standards to protect workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica-one for the construction industry\, 29 CFR 1926.1153\; and the other for general industry and maritime\, 29 CFR 1910.1053-in order to allow employers to tailor solutions to the specific conditions in their workplaces. Enforcement begins September 23\, 2017 for the construction industry. This course is for individuals who will be working in areas where exposures to crystalline silica may occur\, as well as those who will be designated as the Competent Person under the requirements of the silica final rule.
